We would like to thank you for your kind interest and hearty health wishes received and would like to start by saying that for the moment none of our collaborators in China was affected by the new Coronavirus.
Elco Guangdong facilities are centred in Guangdong Province, far away from the center of the outbreak, and there are no governmental travel restrictions in place in this area. The China government has put in place well reported travel restrictions around Wuhan and Hubei province to limit the opportunity of the virus spreading.
The public holidays for the Lunar New Year / Spring Festival were extended to February as a containment measure. Regional Governments have further extended factory reopening dates until Monday 10th February. Based on this information the impact on deliveries from our Foshan plant cannot be fully assessed before 11th of February, but we are confident that due to the location, workers residence and supply chain organisation our operations in China are ready to start in advance to the governmental schedule.
With the hope to a great restart, we will regularly continue to update you as the situation unfolds. Meanwhile we wait for your inquiries in products out of our European facilities, where extraordinary measures have been taken to reduce the dependence on Chinese based supply chains and increment the output in order to cushion the present shortages on the European market.
